Back in business...

Do you remember learning about Maslow's hierarchy of needs for a human? Well, it turns out that there is a hierarchy of needs for a home too! When the sewer stops working - you fix it or you move out. It doesn't matter what the economy is doing right now, if it's Christmas, if you can afford it, or if you are in the mood - you just get it fixed.
Blessedly - we have completed the "little" project of replacing our sewer lateral! Here are some pictures - they only had to dig at the house and out in the street. Also pictured are the offending trees whose roots caused this whole mess. I'd like to meet the individual who sometime around 1964 placed a silver maple sapling directly over the clay sewer line and thought "this will look good here..."
Anyway, it is over now and we are thankful to all who were so supportive and helpful.

Christmas with Mylee

Mylee was so helpful this year while decorating the house for Christmas! In fact she had the tree all done by the time Mike and I were able to even get the tree decorations out of the box. She gathered everything she find that would stay "in" the tree when she put it there. She was so proud, and so were we!

She loves Christmas music - especially the "Melakalekemaka" (no idea how to spell that) song. You'd smile the whole day just to hear her try to say it once!

She's begging me to let her help me make Christmas cookies because of a little book she has - I'm sure we'll take pictures of what is sure to be an adventure, and you'll get to see it.

She keeps looking at the tree and saying "we need to get some presents for me!" In fact, whenever we go to a store she'll say the same thing. (Yes, we have some for her - but she could never resist unwrapping them early - so she has to wait to see them).

This may just turn out to be the best Christmas yet!

PA RUM PA PA PUM

Well, I'm proud as punch because my awesome husband won this Ludwig drum kit last week in a drum solo contest! It was in Logan. There were about 15 drummers, and the judges voted unanimously on Mike as the winner.
Mylee adores drumming almost as much as she adores her dad...The kit is for sale on KSL.com if you know anyone who needs a drum set (It lists for $1500 and we're only asking for $850.) You know you want it...... J/K.
Way to go Mike - - YOU ROCK!
